The House View
Studio Underd0g is usually at its best when the joke is the whole watch rather than a print on the dial, and this is the most disciplined the studio has been: one pusher, one accent colour, and a scale that reads in the numerals of the place the watch was made for. The Gulf is given very few watches designed around it rather than decorated for it, and that, more than the edition size, is what the House finds interesting here.
Studio Underd0g built the 03SERIES Chan3ad with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and named it for the kingfish that has fed the Gulf for as long as people have lived on this coast. The watch carries the fish rather than illustrating it. The upper dial layer is a speckled blue-grey, the colour of its back; a pale pink layer sits beneath it; and the single yellow accent on the chronograph hand stands in for the lemon that arrives beside the plate. Eastern Arabic numerals run around the outer scale and through both counters.
It is a chronograph reduced to one pusher. A single press starts, stops and resets, which is why the crown sits at three with only one button above it. Elapsed time is read from the central seconds hand and the oversized thirty-minute counter at three, with running seconds at nine.
The movement is a Sellita SW510-M, hand-wound, in Elaboré grade, finished for Studio Underd0g with Côtes de Genève across a bridge in dark ruthenium anthracite and left visible through a sapphire display back. It runs at 28,800 vibrations an hour, holds sixty-three hours of reserve and is regulated to within five seconds a day. The 316L stainless steel case measures 38.5 mm across, 44.5 mm lug to lug and 10.8 mm deep without the crystal, sealed to 50 metres beneath sapphire, on 20 mm lugs.
One hundred pieces were made, each individually numbered, and the edition was released on 17 September 2026 through Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. As released, the edition is supplied with a salmon-leather strap made by The Strap Tailor in Iceland and a stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet, both on quick-release spring bars, with a steel pin buckle.
