Before intake
Cova House must confirm formal instructions before any object is sent or delivered.
The House acquires only objects that meet its standards. Some are purchased outright. Others are accepted on consignment when that better serves the object and its owner.
How it works
- Write to Client Services. Tell the House what you have: what it is, how long you have had it, what came with it, and its condition as you see it. Photographs help.
- The House responds honestly. If the object is not a fit, the House says so and explains why. It will not keep a seller waiting on a maybe.
- Assessment. For objects the House wants to pursue, it explains the route, what it needs to see, and how the object would be handled.
- Terms in writing. Nothing moves without written terms covering price or consignment, handling and what happens if the object is not what it appears to be.
What the House needs to know
- What the object is, and any reference or serial detail you are comfortable sharing.
- What documentation, papers, boxes or accessories exist.
- Any service, repair, restoration or alteration history.
- Any flaw. A disclosed flaw costs nothing; an undisclosed one ends the conversation.
What the House will not do
It will not give a binding price from photographs alone. It will not take possession of an object without written terms and a documented handover. It will not name you to a buyer, and it will not publish anything about you.
